What is Logboard?
Logboard is an cloud-based web application designed for storing and managing drilling data, with a focus on minimizing duplicate data entries, streamlining workflows, and ensuring real-time access to accurate information across devices. It is developed by Mikronia Consulting in collaboration with the fantastic team at Tecinspire Oy, a software development company.
While primarily tailored for diamond drilling, Logboard can also effectively be used for other downhole sampling activities, including base-of-till sampling, RC drilling, and sonic drilling. Cost-wise, it is designed to be a flexible solution, ensuring its functionalities provide value for everyone — from junior exploration companies to large mining operations.
The idea for creating Logboard emerged from a common challenge faced by many exploration and mining projects: the inefficiency of managing drilling data. Drilling campaigns often involve multiple manual data entries, error-prone spreadsheets, and the cumbersome task of organizing drill hole photos and site images. These inefficiencies consume valuable time and resources, preventing geologists from focusing on their core tasks: geological data analysis and interpretation.
That’s why we’ve developed Logboard — an centralized platform serving as a single source of truth for drilling data. With Logboard, you ensure that your data is valid and properly structured for fast, reliable reporting and scheduling. And because it’s web-based, data can be entered and accessed from anywhere, whether you’re using a phone, tablet, or computer — as long as there’s an internet connection.

How Logboard is used?
Logboard is flexible and can adapt to your specific project needs. While every team may utilize the application in their own way, the standard diamond drilling workflow typically includes these steps:
- Geologist uploads the drilling plan.
- Drillers input relevant information and upload drill core photos at the end of each shift.
- Geologist adds observations from core checks, such as mineralization notes or structural features.
- Geologists monitor the progress and data quality of the drilling campaign.
- Filtered datasets are exported as CSV files for visualization and reporting.
